How to replace furniture handles & knobs
Replacing furniture handles and knobs is a DIY-friendly project that requires minimal tools and time – here’s a basic guide to get you started:
Measure carefully – before purchasing replacement handles or knobs, measure the existing holes to ensure a good fit. For bar type handles, there will usually be two holes and it’s important to measure the distance between the attachment points to ensure that the new handles will match up – at Sarus Originals we are happy to tweak a design if a customer requires a custom distance.
Tools – Typically you’ll just need a screwdriver, it’s as simple as that! However if new holes are needed you’ll need a drill.
Remove the old handles/knobs – unscrew the old handles/knobs and remove them but do keep the fixing screws as you may need them for the new hardware.
Attach the new handles/knobs – align the new handles/knobs with the existing holes and use the fixing screws to secure them.
Step back and admire the transformation!
